High school seniors who reside in Greene County are invited to apply for scholarships offered by the Greene County Soil & Water Conservation Club and Greene County Soil & Water Conservation District by Friday, Feb. 17.
There are two scholarships available: The first is a $1,000 scholarship sponsored by Greene Soil & Water Conservation Club; the second, a $500 scholarship sponsored by the Greene Soil & Water Conservation District. The winning senior or seniors will be nominated for state and regional scholarships in the amounts of $4,000, $3,000, $2,000, and $600 for each regional winner. All the state and regional scholarships are sponsored by Conservation Districts of Iowa.
Seniors planning to apply must be planning an agriculture, conservation, or natural resources program or degree. This is a wide field and includes many areas of study (eg engineers, ag business, agronomy, veterinary or vet asst, plumbers, diesel mechanics, electricians, horticulture/landscaping, ect.)
